Bombardier responds to an appeal from the Red Cross

June 10, 2011

Recently, the Red Cross issued a notice of employee volunteer mobilization to help those affected by the record-breaking high waters that have resulted in severe flooding along the Richelieu River in Montérégie.

Proof of the importance of the Red Cross's "Partners in Action" program, Bombardier responded to the appeal and provided 135 employee volunteers registered in the program, who subsequently donated the equivalent of 207 days of volunteering to disaster victims.

It is precisely in response to this type of major event that our head office, Bombardier Aerospace and the J. Armand Bombardier Foundation are prepared to make their human resources available and are proud to take part in the "Partners in Action" employee volunteer program. This commitment is in line with our strategic priority of continuously improving our corporate social responsibility.

Goals met

In our second year of participating in the program, we are pleased to announce we have exceeded our registration goals. At present, 870 employees are registered in the program, 217 of which joined this year. Of this total, 376 have completed the training required to respond in the field, meaning Bombardier will have achieved its goal of having 400 employees fully trained in June.
