Pierre Gagnon, Ad. E.

Pierre Gagnon is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In this role, he leads the work of all members of the Corporate Legal team and of the Contracts and Legal Services teams, other than those associated with aircraft transactions. Mr. Gagnon brings to the organization more than 35 years of experience in the legal field, working mostly for corporations in a range of business sectors.

Mr. Gagnon held the position of Executive Vice President, Corporate, Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Governance Officer at Hydro-Québec, up to June 2023. In this role, he oversaw the legal and regulatory affairs of the company and served as a key advisor to the President and CEO and to the Board and its committees.

Mr. Gagnon began his legal career in 1984 at MacKenzie Gervais (now Borden Ladner Gervais), where he became a partner in 1990. He subsequently held various management positions in companies operating in the fields of telecommunications, broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, energy, and aviation.

In 2016, the Barreau du Québec (Québec Bar association) awarded him the title of Lawyer Emeritus (Advocatus Emeritus). In 2014, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the business community, he won the ZSA Québec General Counsel Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Mr. Gagnon holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Université de Montréal and is a member of the Québec Bar association. He is Chairman of the Board of Arion Orchestre Baroque while also sitting on the Board of the Raoul Dandurand Chair in Strategic and Diplomatic Studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
